Inspirations for your in-game name
I see many people with very unique in-game names, so I thought I'd make a post on it. My question is, where does everyone get their ideas? Some just jumble letters together until they find a good name, some base their names off characters they like from TV or other games, etc. So where do you get your inspiration from?
Me, I used to have characters with names like Tender Wolf (yeah still have her lol), Crime Scene Dont X, Timber Wolf Xx, etc. Names that weren't "names" like in the game, you know? Then I got to playing the game and knowing it better so only Tender Wolf remains of those kinds of names. The rest I used my first name backwards and my middle name, and for the other account I wrote down names that I saw in various places that I found unique and combined them together, though some I did think of on my own. lol

First character I invested the name. The rest are all random name gens. Whether or not you get a good one is all chance. Feeling lucky?

I always use names that sound like actual names. My two main characters are Ciel Amie and Zoe Melete.
Ciel was a name I used for another online game, though I don't remember how I came up with that one. When I made her here in GW, I just put another pretty French name onto Ciel.
As for Zoe, well I really like that name. My old friend's girlfriend was named Zoe, so I think I got it from her. I made her based off a muse, so I made her surname the same as one of the muses.

i made up my names. some of them have nice little words i like.
My first main man monk is called magixo malenko. i sort of thought it sounded like mage and magic and went with some random letters.
my favourite is Spearitual Smith. my surname is smith and the character is a paragon (hence spear)/ Ritualist (hence ritual). Makes it sound like spearitual.
other names include:
paradox inscription
forsaken incantashn
Nebula grey (a enemy in megaman exe 5 lol)
Dr Ghostie (after cool mesmer looks , mine had pale skin)
Sunrise prophet.......i dunno really
Nennius excaliblade (i dunno really but its like excalibur...)
if i had more slots i would name an assasin Bounty Blades or something.

I knew several who took words and made them backwards, but most are inspired from fiction of movies, anime, video games, music, and books. For example, my overused one "Zeek Aran" is from an anime and a video game. Zeek is from Zoids [which I watched when I was eleven or so and I loved the name since] and Aran is the last name of the famous bounty hunter, Samus, from the Metroid series.

Fred (Flintstone) made a special guest appearance in the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy episode, Modern Primitives, in which Billy finds him frozen in ice and buried in his backyard. Upon being (accidentally) defrosted by Grim, Billy forces Fred to adapt to the modern world until he finally goes on a senseless rampage, referred to as "future shock" by Mandy. At the end of the episode, he is frozen again, this time due to sherbet ice cream. Billy also gets frozen (though this is not shown in the episode; Billy tells Fred about it in another future world), upon realizing that there was sherbet ice cream buried in his yard. This version of Fred behaves like a caveman and can only say "Yabba-Dabba-Doo," shortening it to "YABBA-DABBA!!!" when he got really mad. When Billy asks him his name, he replies with "Oh, Fred," but Billy misinterprets it, thinking Fred is talking in another language, and renames him "Jake Steel."

So all of my names are a variation on that.

My first, and still favorite character is Busty McGregor. Named her after my Sorceress from Diablo2, where my naming convention for the female characters were all stripper sounding names, just like my ranger Candi Coated. My amazon name isn't allowed otherwise i'd also have a B00bs mcGee.

Origins of all my characters names:
Marlin Backna - A fictional person with a odd accent that we used as a name for a mini-golf game. Odd, I know, but the next day or so was the day I bought Guild Wars, so the name was in my mind, and it grew into my warrior main. I didn't want to use my normal online name Benjammn for him because for a fantasy game, that would have been newbish.
Mortium Exercitus - Latin for "Army of the Dead", I wanted to have a Latin name, so for a Ritualist, that would make sense.
Psi Lent - Hopefully you see the word play. It is my Assassin.
Zeis Van Woade - Dutch for "Scythe of Fury" ; No, I am not actually Dutch but my dad's side of the family is completely, so I wanted something to tie that in.
Jugs Mcgee - A good friend and I decided one day to start two new characters, and thought that two girls named T*ts Mcgee would be funny as hell, so he named his ele Melons Mc Gee (surprisingly Melons Mcgee was taken) and I named my ranger Jugs Mcgee. However, I rerolled her and made a paragon instead.

My name Snow Bunny was meant to be deceiving, as well as fitting for a little asian monk.
Also, I just felt it was interesting.
